Widely considered basketball's Greatest of All Time, Michael Jordan is possibly the most revered and influential athlete ever. After driving North Carolina to a national college championship in 1982, he joined Chicago, becoming a fan favorite with the high-flying style that won him two slam-dunk titles. In 1991 he earned the first of three consecutive rings before retiring to play baseball. Upon his return to hoops he led Chicago to a second three-peat ('96, '97 & '98). The holder of the highest scoring average in league history (30.1 PPG), MJ's accomplishments include two gold medals, six finals MVP awards, five league MVP awards, three All-Star MVP awards, ten scoring titles, Defensive Player of the Year and an induction to the Hall of Fame in 2009. Now a basketball executive and ambassador to the game, MJ's social, cultural and business impact is underscored by his many social contributions, including the Jordan Fundamentals teacher grant program.
